As most of you have heard, Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on October 14th, 2025. Generally, the ideal solution is to upgrading to Windows 11. This guide can help you decide what to do.
Why your computer might not support Windows 11:
- CPU: Needs to be on the list of supported processors
- TPM: Needs a TPM 2.0 security chip
- There are other reasons that Windows 11 will not install but these are the two main ones that we see
If upgrading isn’t possible:
- Try Linux
- Get a new computer
- Stay with Windows 10, but be extra cautious

Upgrading can give it new life. Replacing the hard drive with an SSD makes a huge difference. Sometimes it makes more sense to get a new computer.
Our Observations:
- Less than 8 GB of RAM? Probably shouldn’t install Windows 11
- Most computers should have an SSD
